fem.box

There´s times where I am pretty lucky in regards of raffles, and so on Facebook I won this box – not a beauty box, rather a lifestyle/beauty/wellness/fitness box which is just the right thing for me.  I liked the look of the boy, that color splash like outlook of the box is simple but attractive. Yet I was surprised that the wrapping paper inside was black, which doesn´t match anymore – but you know that I like black, so 😉

What I reall didn´t like is that what we received as a prize is the box from December, so totally nothing up to date or anything. Yes I know it´s for free but still, I am used to actually getting one of the latest boxes instead.

Max Factor – Facefinity Compact Foundation

Simply Chai – Simply Chai Spicy
I´ve already been drinking Chai quite a while ago, still during my studies back in Finland, after one of my hosts had turned me into it. And back in the days I really enjoyed it, so I was really curious how this is gonna taste as it´s a spicy version of the “normal” Chai – it was okay, but nothing that I would personally by for myself, as the normal one is more of my cup of tea 😉

Dr. Severin – Woman Original Body Aftershave Balsam
When I opened the bottle and squeezed the liquid/balm/gel onto my hand, the smell really tourned me off – it´s extremely strong, and it feels like you pour parfume over yourself – though parfume is not on the top ingredients. But still, massive smell, and a smell that is rather masculine than feminine as it feels heavy. It nicely cools the shaved areas, yet I wouldn´t use it on any shaved body part.

Kneipp – Back & Neck Balsam with grapple plant
Generally I´ve always been a fan of stuff from Kneipp, and this balm for the neck and back to losen stuff muscles is no exception, even though it´s not my first choice in this case. It works pretty well, and feels good on the skin – no irritated skin, no burning, nothing. And it works, my neck really did feel better after using it.

4711 Acqua Colonia – Lime & Nutmeg Shower Gel
To be honest, I cannot say anything about it as I have it away to someone as a present – I still have tons of other shower gels so…

Twisterz – Plastic bands
Well, at first I really thought that this was some beauty crap for wrapping around your hair or stuff, and was annoyed. But then I figured it´s for wrapping around cables, which is kinda cool – first off that it saves the cable and secondly that you can easily then recognize your cable in case you and someoen else have the same kind of cables. Nothing that I waited for, but it works, looks funny and is fine.

Workout water – Stay Fresh with elder taste
Th ehype about BCAA drinks is clearly something that I also watch as I am working out quite a bit, and there are surely products that make sense to consume after sports – with this drink nevertheless I struggle. And that has several reasons: foremost it has lactose in it, which makes it for me risky as I have no idea how much actually is in there and how many body reacts on it, especially after a workout that might be stressful. In addition – the taste. It is totally oversweetened and I feel like dying from a sugar shock, it is too much for me, and the overall taste is really totally not my cup of tea!

Voucher: Yogaeasy – Online Yoga
I will be trying this in June, so I cannot really write a review on it yet – because I wanna test it properly and not just write about the very first tiny impression ^^

PinkBox Oktober 2015

L´Oréal Paris Hair Expertise – EverPure Tiefen-Regenerations-Maske

Lord & Berry – Line/Shade – Eye Pencil

Schaebens – After Sun Maske

Colgate – Max White One Optic

Institute  Karité Paris – Extra Gentle Body Milk

Olaz – Beauty Fluid Tageslotion

Deo spray – Balea – Raspberry & Cherry

Alright, to be fair, I´ve been using one and the very same deo spray for the past years, as I am not really a fan of experimenting in that case. But when I was at the store again and found those two lovely sprays, I thought I should once give it a try – especially because the smell promised sounded really fancy.

Balea – Deo/Body spray – Shining Berry (raspberry)

Mainly a bodoy spray, but for me it at least qualified to be called a light deo spray because for me it at least had this effects.

Smell-wise, it is beating the cherry one by miles, I really loved that smell – it is not that strong but remains on te body for a really long time, and this is something I enjoy a lot.

It lays good on the skin, but sometimes doesn´t dry fast enough.

Overall – a nice spray, good for the body but not made for hot summer days.

Balea – Deo spray – cherry

This is supposed to be a pure deo spray and I don´t know why they´re calling this a deo spray. For me it is solely a body spray, as it rally doens´t do the job a deo should be doing. At least not for me, I am not sure if I am the only one.

Smell-wise it is nice, strong but still smelling really well for a long time, and also it is quite friendly to the skin and I had no bad experienced with it.

Overall, nevertheless, this is a cpure body spray, and really not a dea spray – if you want a deo spray, don´t choose this one.

Balea – Peeling: Dead Sea Salt Oil– Lemongrass smell

Description

Balea Dead Sea Salt Oil improves the softness of the skin and straightens it. The caring formula includes carefully chosen oils from olive, jojoba and sunflower as well as caffeine. The formula with minerals is a good choice for sensitive and stressed skin.
[Source in German]

How to Use

Massage it into the skin is circle movements, avoid sore skin or wounds by all means.

Ingredients

Maris Sal, Helianthus AnnuusSeed Oil, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil, Magnesium Carbonate, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Caffeine Urea, Tocopherol, Parfume, Aqua, Zinc Oxide, Linalool, CI 47005, CI 42090

MY EXPERIENCE

I am not a big fan of peelings, because my skin is really sensitive. I made the mistake and didn´t check my legs for sore places and such, and then massaged the peeling into those places aswell and felt as if my leg was burning – so please make sure you really do not have any sore skin places or anything like this. Besides this, the peeling really cleaned my skin and it felt so good, and also was visible that my skin was much cleaner afterwards. Also, my skin was feeling really soft because of the oils.

If you are using it more often, it clearly does improve your skin and also the feeling of your skin, because after cleaning it, it also calms it down straight afterwards thanks to all those oils – and that´s really necessary especially for a sensitive and easily irritated skin like mine.

Lush – Facial Mask – Mask of Magnaminty

Description from the webpage

Mask of Magnaminty isn’t technically a daily ‘facial wash’; it’s actually a deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint reach deep down to pull the debris from your pores, giving you that delightful tingly-clean sensation. We add loads of aduki beans to exfoliate flaky or dry skin, vanilla absolute to calm redness and honey to soothe. Our inventors created Mask of Magnaminty to be the ‘ultimate face mask’, intense but not harsh or abrasive on the skin. We recommend using Mask of Magnaminty weekly to keep the skin in good condition. [Source]

How to Use

Put it onto your face and don´t do it too think but also not too thick. Leave it on for up to 15 minutes – for me 10 minutes are the maximum, nothing longer is needed – then wash it off with warm water and maybe a soft sponge, always going in circles and with a bit of a massage pressure.

Ingredients

Bentone Gel , Kaolin , Honey , Talc , Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus Angularis) , Glycerine , Evening Primrose Seeds (Oenothera biennis) , Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita) , African Marigold Oil (Tagetes erecta) , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Limonene , Fragrance , Methylparaben , Chlorophyllin

MY EXPERIENCE

My skin is a really bitch and itchy skin, a clear and good looking skin is hardly to be reached for me. Especially due to my allergies, my skin often has little red parts and such. But this facial mask doesn´t only smell good and feels really refreshing on the skin, it also does wonders to it: my skin is so much less irritated, the inflammations seem to be healing off so much faster and my skin feels soft and calmed down after using it. For me it is always a risk to use normal products, because I might be able to read the ingredients, but never know how my skin will react – here with Lush´s products, I never had any problems so it really does give me a really amazing safe feeling.

The only part I am not much into is taking the facial mask off my face again, because it feels like no matter if I do it with warm water only a sponge or a little wet towel, the mask is crumbling – and thus often drops where it shouldn´t be dropping.

But I can easily ignore that, because I am totally in love with this facial mask. I can really recommend it to everyone, especially for the summer months it is just perfect because of the refreshing smell and cooling feeling on the skin.

Bathing essences – Tetesept (different kinds)

Almond blossom (Bath and peeling)

I was a bit sceptic, as anything with the potential allergic ingredients (almond, here) make me feel a bit insecure – but I was totally wrong.

It didn´t only smell really well and kept that smell throughout the whole long bath, it also made my skin feel fully and deeply cleaned but still really fresh and also soft.

I really enjoyed this bath, though you gotta keep in mind that the essence itself is not coming with amazing bubble, foam, color effects – it is more about the effects on the skin, and that one can really be recommended!

tetesept – Comfort donator

It sounds really fancy, and the packaging seems to be cheering up already as it is kinda cute and sounds nice with chocolate being a part of the essence.

But this is actually mostly all about the positive things – the skin felt nice after the bath. But that´s it, as it doesn´t really look that nice, nor does it smell much after pouring the essence into the bathing water.

Therefore, this essence I cannot really recommend – comfort giving? I don´t know, it is rather a disappointment for me.

Winter tale

To be fair, I cannot really tell much about it – but first things first.

When I opened the packaging, it smelled really good – like winter, like christmas, it had just given me this feeling of coming back home after a long fun day in the snow. And it kept that smell also after having filled up the bath tub with all the needed hot water.

I personally encountered heavy allergic issues with this essence, and I cannot put my finger onto the reasons, as all ingredients should not be a problem for me. Therefore I cannot tell much, except for my skin being all itchy and irritated after a short while.

Therefore: allergic people, watch out!

Magic of a mountain hut

I opened the package and wow – it smells amazing even though the smell didn’t last too long, which made me pretty sad. I could´ve done well with having this amazing strong smel for the whole duration of my bath.

Unfortunately, skin was feeling rather dry afterwards – maybe the essence is lacking some caring ingredients that are needed by the skin for a long hot bath, and especially for such a wintery essense it should be essential – cold outside, dry air, dry skin.

Therefore: the smell was amazing and I enjoyed that, but the rest was average and not really outstanding as I hoped it would be.

Bathing essences: Isana

Time to dream

Classy blue and night-like outlook, looks good at first. When opening it, a strong smell emerges, and stays also when you insert it to the water. The smell might be a bit too strong, at least for my taste it was too strong as it stayed like this for a very long time during taking this bath. I was surprised though that there was quite a load of foam, which is a huuuge positive point – that might even cover up the fact that my skin didn´t feel too nice after the bath, and that though I wasn´t even in the water as long as usual.

Overall, I am therefore not entirely sure if I would recomment it or not – if you enjoy a that strong smell, go for it. If not, then you might need to think twice.

Viola & Red Clover

A flowery packaging, that nevertheless looks rather old-fashioned and not that appealing for younger people I suppose.

The smell is decent, not too strong and not too weak, just right for a long bath with really loads of foam – and that came as a surprise again.

My bathtub was filled with foam, and that foam was staying far longer than I was able to take this bath. My skin felt good afterwards, not too dry but also not that soft anymore (no surprise).

Generally, it was much better than the “Time to dream” essence, but still it was not much more than an average bathing essence.

Mandarine & Buttermilk

I personally didn´t really find a smell in thet sense, a very discrete bathing essence when it comes to this – but my skin loved in nevertheless.

I took a hot long bath and my skin really felt like reborn after it, very soft and some clean in some way – it is hard to describe to be fair.

Overall, it is nothing if you are all into amazing effects and such stuff – if you want a basic good feeling essence, this might be the right for you though.

Lemongrass & bamboo

It smelled really lovely when I opened the package but this smell didn’t remain for long- it faded already when the bath tub was fully filled with the hot water

The essence was really soft and caring to the skin and brought up just the right amount of bubbles and foam for it to be an enjoyable bath that you can also enjoy for a few minutes longer without worrying about dry and itchy skin as an aftermath.

Overall it still was rather average, nothing more and nothing less.

Bathing essences – For children – Kneipp

Kneipp – Little vikings

The packaging clearly is addressing children, and in a classic boy-blue, a bit cliché but it probably is working really well. It is too differently colored essences, white and blue which then mix to a really light blue in the water – it rather looks like a grey-blue, which is a pity. The smell is nice when you open the essence, but fades really quickly. Pluspoints are that the amount of foam the essence gives you is just stunning – literally a bathtub full. Also, my skin was feeling still really nice afterwards, which is a challenge with my dry skin at the moment.

Conclusion? Quite good, especially if you love foam!

Kneipp – Magical witch

To be fair, out of those two this one is my clear favourite – maybe because in the end of the day I am still a girl.

The smell when opening the package is great, and so it is also during the whole long hot bath. The amount of bubbles and foam is…well you could easily lose your child in there to say the least. It also claims that it would be soft to the skin, and so it really is – my skin felt like a baby skin after my 15min hot bath -. and I was really surprised.

All in all therefore you might already have guessed, that this is a 100% recommendation not only for kids, but also for grown ups!

Kneipp – Bathing essences

2014-12-28 12.12.10

Happy timeout

Yes, it really had been a happy timeout, starting with the promise of long lasting foam. And believe me, this promise was kept: much foam, loads of it. And it stayed and stayed, even after a long bath when the water was gone, the bath tub was full of foam, atill.

The packaging is simple and not too fancy, not necessarily something that attracts young customers, I´d rather say 30+.

The smell was pleasant, but for me not strong enough after a while spent in the bath, but still more then just average. The smell itself was lovely though.

Everything´s gonna be alright (Crystals)

The packaging looks so adorable and cute, that it is heartwarming and making things better already. The contents of of the bathing essence sounded promising, but its good smell was fading really quickly, which was a disappoinment. Also, the look of the bathing essence was….not thet amazing, the yellow water looked not that pleasant, the associations with other things are just nothing you want to have. The skin felt dry afterwards, but that might´ve also just been the case because I was in the water for too long – who knows.

All in all, it could´ve been better, much better. Average bathing essence, not more, not less.

Soft end of the day (Pearls)

The packaging really fits the theme – end of the day, a relaxed evening. I was a tad worried from the start that it might not quite fit my taste smell-wise, and to be fair: I was right. The smell of lavender was during the first half of the bath really strong and intensive, maybe too much for me – I guess for those who enjoy that smell, it would be just perfect. Thecolor was a nice blue-purple and also my skin did not get dry even though I had a long relaxing time in the water fused by the essence.

Overall this essence is nothing for my taste due to its smell, but I think there´s gonna be people who really enjoy it 🙂
